Toned Down Weekend

Greetings, all...here it is Monday morning and I must say I had a pretty go-with-the-flow type of weekend. Which was really, really nice.

Friday night I had planned to go to the movies with E and E, but decided against it. I was not feeling 100% and the rest was good. And I got to see Syd the Kid hoist the Cup. Saturday morning, I was going to go to the Barn, but decided to go to the Wolfville Market instead to catch some live music by my friend Jason Myers. We ended up having a great chat. And, I met up with an old friend who used to have the apartment above me on Main Street and it was an opportunity to have coffee and get caught up. Saturday afternoon a nap was in order and then during a trot around the block with the Hound, I was invited to dinner by the Connolly's. A lovely evening was had by all and I enjoyed my first G&T of the season. Sunday morning was all about cleaning this house and getting a bunch of little things accomplished. Sunday afternoon I visited the Hamiltons and pilfered some herbs out of their garden and was offered a glass of wine. And then Sunday evening I hosted a gaggle of girls to discuss Rockbound. It was our first selection for the Bag Ladies (the AVRL has a program called Book Club in a Bag and we tried it out) and I think the experiment went well.

And being the nature girl that I am, I happened to come across an interesting phenomenon on the steps to my deck. In the frst pic, look very closely at the crack the clay pot is sitting on and you will see a little lump. The 2nd pic is the lump: a ton of baby spiders all clumped together! The nest must have been in the crack, and there were teeny webs galore coming from it up to the plant and the step. Later on in the evening, the lump had moved up an inch and this morning, the lump has dispersed and fanned out along the webbies. Go with the wind, little babies...and eat lots of buggies, please :)

Love the clay pots on the step...and aren't those spidey nests interesting? We have a few hatching on Arnie's garage. TFS!

I love that you love the spiders and nature. I want them to eat all the bugs too! What a relaxing weekend!
