It has been a busy past month: a couple of weeks of management training in the city, some union training in Moncton (side bar: I got to spend an evening with the Vachon-Maillet clan which was the best part of the trip...the worst was when I went off the road on the Cobequid pass) and rehearsals for the seasonal choir presentation of Joyful and Triumphant (we also performed for the ecumenical advent service and the Festival of Lights). Here at home started a mini-reno in the kitchen (new counter, floor, paint and hardware). There have been a slew of parties (CFIA Kentville Ladies Luncheon, Book Club party at Paulette's, work luncheon, seasonal choir, Burgers and Beer night at the pub with the usual suspects, an evening at Jim and Colleen's and sweets and treats here after the choir thingy).
And, I have discovered that it take A LOT of energy to grow a human so I am wiped out. If you have not rec'd a card from me and you usually do, take heart: they went in the mail on the 21st and they are on the way.
Mom was here last weekend for the musical (which was, I have to say, great) and so we had a nice visit with her (poor woman had absolutely no hospitality..I didn't have a kitchen and the spare room was full of kitchen crap but she made it out alive and I think she might come back although I would not blame her if she didn't I was a little stressed and crabby). We got some shopping in and enjoyed each other's company. Sunday Troy, Macy and I found a tree at the Hutchinson Acres lot (which was beautiful in the front but bald on the back...of course we had to take it because I felt so sorry for it {and it was marked to 10$}) and set it up. I decorated it on Monday when the Boy was at hockey (ok. He did help with the lights). Good thing we exchanged baked treats for the Book Club gifts this year or I would not have had a single Christmas baked good to offer (kitchen has been in various states of dismantling for a month and the stove has been in the living room for a week).
And now here we are on the cusp of Christmas. After I do the wrapping this afternoon after work, we'll be off to Middleton to relax and party some more. And then I'm off work until January 4th. Which makes me REALLY happy (like I didn't have enough to be happy about. Even tho I am crabby, I am VERY thankful for my life and all that is in it right now).
So enjoy these last few hectic days of 2010 and then enjoy the freshness of January and the New Year. Blessings and Love to All!
