Tee Hee Hee!

I couldn't help myself last Saturday. It's not "taking advantage". It's called "using the resources available to you". You know what they say, "use it or lose it"!

Hard to believe, but we have almost past the 25 week mark. Apparently I'm measuring a little larger (like, 27 weeks), but that could be the muffin top that was there before the baby was. I'm feeling great for the most part. My only complaint is that I get tired too easily and is is hard for a go go go girl to go slow slow slow. I get a little frustrated when I am gasping for breath on my way up the hill after the daily dog walk. And since Troy has started working from home, I no longer have to come home to release the hound so I have taken to walking to and from work as well. I have also started the prenatal yoga class available at a (new) yoga SUDIO (ie not a gym, not a rec hall) in KENTVILLE called Sol Yoga (across from Harvest on Webster Court). Love, Love, Love it. Ashley has taken specific prenatal yoga training and her class is pretty great. So far, there has been only one other mama, but the grand opening is this weekend and she says others have expressed interest.

Now that Christmas is past, the inevitability of this is looming: the baby is coming wether you are ready or not so get cracking!

That means collecting baby stuff. Which, by the way, can be an enormous weight on ones mind. Marketing geniuses have been at this for eons and it is a challenge to separate the true needs from the "you really should have this if you really love your child" needs. So I've been sorting that out in my wee brain. My mom has graciously offered to purchase the stroller (need: I walk all the time and it is good for us) and that has been ordered (Phi & Teds). Other than that, the only other decision made has been to try cloth diapering and I am pretty sure it will be the Bummis system. And we are wiling to borrow whatever we can and so far have offers and/or possession of the following: crib, highchair, snuggie, neglectasaucer, nursing pillow.

And it means cleaning out the spare room so that it can be transitioned to the baby's room. We have left over paint from when we painted our room, so it will be Benjamin Moore's "sisal" on the walls and blinds on the windows just like ours (faux wood from Kent...really match the woodwork well...perhaps someone could make a nice stripey or valence, Marilyn?). And a giant brown and green tree decal on the far wall. And perhaps the beginning of a family photo collage with a decal of the words "we love you". And some animal art. Other than that, I'm not into the matchy matchy crap so there will be no complete nursery set of everything under the sun with the same what the hell do you do with it afterward baby pattern. Just a few woodsy elements like the soft light turtle lamp I already have, the lamp with the bird on a twig that I already have, etc. And I'd like to keep it to brown, tan and greens. Nature, baby, nature: my happy place!

So there it is. The beginnings of the prep. Holy crap. Better get going...the kitchen revamp isn't even finished, yet!

Muffin top that was there before... HA! You have a wild imagination. I think even muffin crumbs would be an exageration!
I have absoluteoy no worry that you'll separate the "need" from "want" and "wish". On the want and wish front, that is why baby showers exist!
