The Best Monday Ever

Wanna know how to have the Best Monday of your life?

Wake up to the sounds of exotic birds and the rustling of the rushes above your balcony thatched roof. Drink rich Mexican coffee first thing. Have mimosa served to you as you enter a sunlit breakfast buffet room full of smiling, excited people. Help yourself to fried bananas, grilled pineapple and the best mangoes you have ever had.

Then head to the Beach! Hang with people you love and order a margarita for your insulated travel mug.

Play in the waves in the Caribbean Sea.

Nap in the sun and listen to the many different languages that surround you.

Barter with beach jewellery vendors and get a great deal on silver baubles.

Get pretty in a huge stand-up shower under a rain forest fixture in luxurious bathroom dripping in onyx tile. Put on a frock and join your travel peeps for drinks in the lobby and head to an a la carte French Restaurant called le Fleur. Be served an exquisite meal by smiling Mexicans.

Stroll the open balcony and listen to a mariachi band down below. Enjoy a few mojitos and gin and tonics at the bar and meet an interesting couple from Montreal. Dance a little. Dance a little more at the disco. Try to find your room in an immense resort and laugh about it. Fall asleep to the sounds of cicadas under a ceiling fan.

Now THAT is a palatable Monday!

PS- Here is a list of the usual suspects in our travel party. To the right starting with me: Marilyn (Troy's mom), Gerry (Troy's uncle), Barb (Gerry's wife), Tim (Troy's cousin and father of the Bride), Cindy (Tim's gal) and Troy.

Reading your post makes me think I was there. I love the way you make it so real. I wish I could spend a Monday in Mexico too. Your bikini's rock!
