No Yellow Ticket for Us

Yesterday was the big day. Macy and I hopped in the truck, picked up our new friends Cindy and Quincy in Wolfville, and made the trek into the City to be evaluated to be a pet therapy team.

This is the scene: A very busy Alderny Gate Library in a room about as big as my living room with 5 dogs, 6 handlers, 2 guests, one kid and 5 evaluators from 10:30 am until about 2:30 pm with one 15 minute break to do 10 exercises. Talk about pressure cooker. Afterward, they brought each team in individually for assessment. I was EXTREMELY proud of how we did so I was not expecting what happened. Because the Hound (emphasis on Hound, here) barked hello at a dumbass Australian shepherd when we got there. And she wouldn't let the huge, arrogant head evaluator touch her belly in the very first exercise. No aggression, she just kept backing up when he came at here from the front.

It was a scene out of Canine Idol. I should have said, "Well thank you very much, Simon" when we left.

Well they are just as stupid as Simon is then. You both would have done great. See you tomorrow.

Definitely there loss but don't give up. Perhaps a door will open... and meanwhile Macy can provide a little therapy to your book club peeps tonight.
Can't wait!

Don't mean to be critical but maybe they should use some of their criteria for some of the care-givers who actually work in some of those centers!!...

Yes, I agree with both our Moms, it is their loss! Macy is so sweet and would have made a wonderful therapy dog!
See you both tonight!
