For an accurate weather report in Nova Scotia, look out your window. There have been extreme weather predictions that morphed into near-cataclysmic storm gossip and sent everyone scrambling. Yes, OK, it was messy. But not un-doable. I couldn't help but take this picture...messy weather sometimes gives the gift of great photo-ops.
I made it to work this morning, got a crapload of stuff accomplished to help this busy month go smoothly, worked through lunch and then said, "Self, you deserve a mini-vacation!" and took 2.5 hours off this afternoon. Came home, built a fire and slept for 2 hours. My kinda mini :)
I had a full weekend-o-fun at the Barn with Paulette et al Saturday and Sunday. We created the projects pictured: a "magical' home decor item with 7 Gypsies papers, an altered address book using canvas/paint/gesso techniques, an ever-so-cute mini book called :"My little house of friends" and a wonderful project on canvas with a new line of papers called Graphic45. Whew! Paulette outdid herself once again and a good time was had by all. I can't pinpoint my favourite meal: the quiche? The homemade baked beans and Red River Cereal bread? The Smokey Sausage Soup?
So, having had a hellovaweek last week (the baking every night was worth it...I raised over $230 from the Coffee Breaks I put on at work!) and a full weekend, I decided to wait out the freezing rain under a blanket. With my Hound Dog. Check out the Beagle Nest I discovered after I got up to put more wood on the fire.

I love the projects. I love the project with the word "magic". What was that done on? I am trying to purge my basement this week and when I'm done I will put together projects for my trip to NS in May. (maybe the technique you used here could work for me).
Happy rest of the week!

Could you believe the freezing rain? no power for 5 hours...I was forced to go to my clean room & work on another project!( I'd say LOL but I know you hate it!) So fun to have you Taryn & way to go with your fund raising...gotta love it ;o)
That Beagle nest makes me dream... oh, how I could lose myself in there! After a day slaving in the soggy basement, a fall on the icy deck and a snarky e-mail from a disapointed freecycler, the nest picture is a reminder to take a breath and that everything will be OK. And if all else fails, bury myself deep into a big blanket!
It was such a great weekend and a great Monday to stay home and hide indoors. I did venture out to take a few pics, may even post them sometime.
It really was an awesome weekend with the girls! I keep looking at my projects...I love them all! WTG on the fundraising, Taryn...you are rockin' it, girl!
