And now we are Married...

What an amazing, wonderful weekend. The weather was perfect, the couple ecstatic, the party went on for four days!

The wedding was at Domaine de Grand Pre winery in Wolfville and it could not have been better. It was exactly what we wanted: intimate and personal. A comment from a gust said, "it was so Taryn and Troy". The ceremony was on the pergola and Pastor John did an amazing job. I was calm and cool and collected until I got to the head of the stairs and saw Troy waiting for me and my breath caught in my throat. He was SO handsome in his new suit. Our friend Jenn sang during the signing of the register. And then after we were presented as Mr. and Mrs., How Sweet it Is (to be loved by you) was played and the celebration began with sparking wine and a wonderful toast by the best man. The formal pics were taken and then we sat down to a big family dinner at one table. The weather was so wonderful...the taper candles on the table stayed lit right until the end of the night! Magical is the appropriate word.

Saturday morning Troy's mom hosted a brunch for us in Middleton and as a special suprise Troy's dad let him take the Beemer Friday night. So on the way back to Kentville, we had the top down. It was so relaxing. I went and had my hair and makeup done at Beleaf for the party and was able to relax a bit before the celebration at the Port. I have to say, they pulled out all the stops...Marlene and her team rock! Our friend Jon provided the music for the evening and then our neighbour Scott showed up with is drum kit and then Jenn got behind the mike and an amazing time was had by all! In fact, one of the servers was heard to have said, "that was the best party we've had here since we opened!". So, so wonderful to see everyone have a wonderful time....it was exactly what we wanted.

And then Sunday, my Mom hosted a BBQ here at the house. Thanks to our friend Thoughtful Fred, we had a big tent set up in the driveway and everyone spent the evening out there. We even opened our wonderful, thoughtful gifts out there (one little bump: there was a gift of a place setting of dishes but there was no card...can anyone help us out with finding out who the generous friend is?)

Wait..the fun did not end there...we had an impromptu Summer Solstice gathering here as the weather was a bit dodgy. We were supposed to go to the shore, but the skies were grey and we still had the tent so we have lobster in the driveway :) We ended the evening by toasting the arrival of summer with champagne under the stars by the fire pit.

Life is Good.

You and Troy so know how to 'do it up right!' I'm so happy for you both. We had a wonderful time at the reception. Thanks for sharing the 'deets' on the rest of the wedding weekend.
